It was all smiles at the GARM Junior Invitational Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Youth golfers from different age categories convened from different parts of the island to compete in the tournament.

It was a bright sunny day, which made it perfect for the winners of the tournament who enjoyed a helicopter ride of the island provided by Trade Winds Helicopters, S.A.

Among the winners was a child that traveled from the mainland of Honduras for the event. Organizer, Sean Strand, says that the future of the GARM Junior Invitational Tournament will hopefully attract participation from neighboring countries. Strand gathered a team of volunteers that included George Lanham who heads a youth golf program catered to children on the island. Together with Pristine Bay’s Black Pearl Golf Course, George has gathered donated tools and equipment over the years to make the program possible. Most of the children who placed in today’s tournament, are active participants in Lanham’s program.
